A Brief History of Time, Human Potential, and the Development of AI

Manuel Beck ()

Chapter Chapter 1 in Artificial Intelligence in Sales, 2025, pp 3-13 from Springer

Abstract: Summary This chapter highlights the importance and rapid development of Artificial Intelligence. AI is a crucial driver of technological progress, making numerous business processes more efficient and powerful. However, the enormous speed of this development makes it difficult to keep track—this poses a great challenge and often a hurdle for many companies. This is exactly where this book comes in: It aims to provide a clear guide that offers practical instructions for the effective use of AI in various areas of sales. Both strategic and practical approaches are presented to recognize the benefits of AI and to apply AI optimally. Finally, the structure of the book is explained to give readers a structured orientation for the upcoming chapters.
