Chapter Chapter 3 in Speaking Management, 2021, pp 11-15 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract There are several features of language usage outlined here that can lead us into accidentally setting these linguistic traps for ourselves. These features are 1. mental rather than actual dichotomies, such as the mind-body split, 2. focusing on the sum of the parts and ignoring their couplings/ connections, 3. the arbitrary relationship between sounds and meaning, 4. the difficulties of classification systems and 5. rushing past definition.
