Chapter Chapter 16 in Consumer Perceptions and Food, 2024, pp 319-332 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Sustainable food systems are crucial for addressing the challenges of food security, environmental sustainability, and human well-being. By promoting locally grown foods, adopting sustainable diets, implementing organic farming practices, and involving food and nutrition professionals in policy-making and research, we can work towards creating more sustainable and resilient food systems. A sustainable diet is crucial for addressing the challenges of our current food systems. It offers a comprehensive approach that integrates health, agriculture, environment, economy, and socio-cultural issues. By adopting a sustainable diet, individuals can contribute to environmental sustainability, improve their health, and promote social and economic stability. Individuals, policymakers, and organizations need to prioritize and promote sustainable diets for a healthier and more sustainable future.
