Abstract: Abstract This chapter discusses the impacts on operating costs, efficiency and pollutants generation of fossil fuels burned in thermoelectric power plants. The possible techniques used to reduce pollutant emission are discussed including the evaluation of their impact on the plant operation. A brief analysis of dual fuel power plant equipment is presented at the end of the chapter.
