Abstract:
Abstract This chapter presents the definitions of risk, the various elements of risk, and how to present the various dimensions of risk. Uncertainties are discussed based on a Bayesian perspective, and finally are some basic modelling concepts introduced, such as defence in depth, barriers, root causes and Risk Influencing Factors.
