Chapter Chapter 1 in Digital Maintenance Management, 2022, pp 3-11 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The digital transformation is changing the way maintenance is managed. The new maintenance strategies are reaching the objective of increasing assets dependability over the life cycle while reducing the frequency of scheduled maintenance. How is this possible? What is the process to follow, and what are the tools to use, to reach such excellence in management? How can we adapt our current maintenance management system to a digital management system? Clearly, the process is not trivial neither is the tools implementation sequence. To develop a maintenance digital strategy, we must understand that the existing maintenance plans will have to be deeply analyzed and probably broken down for each specific system, often lowering the level of indenture of the functional locations, according to opportunities highlighted by new technologies and data analysis.
