A chapter in Probability and Statistical Models in Operations Research, Computer and Management Sciences, 2024, pp 353-371 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This paper summarises the reliability, failure distribution, MTTF, failure rate and median of common redundant systems with n identical units, using a random K-out-of-n system. Eight examples of standard redundant systems and calculations of their reliability properties are given. The paper also gives the approximations of MTTF for a Weibull distribution and defines the complexity of a redundant system for further studies.
