Abstract: Abstract This chapter offers an overview of the book about Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Safety and Reliability Engineering within Industry 5.0, setting the stage for detailed discussions in subsequent chapters. AI can deliver novel and more accurate insights compared to traditional methods in the field of Safety and Reliability Engineering. Additionally, this book addresses the importance of ensuring the safety and reliability of AI systems, which are integral to the Industry 5.0 revolution. We will introduce critical topics that will be explored in the following chapters of the book.
