ATEX—Equipment Selection

Chapter Chapter 5 in ATEX—Explosive Atmospheres, 2016, pp 43-55 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract For areas where a hazardousEquipment selection explosive atmosphere may occur, and therefore require zone classification, the employer must observe the selection criteria for equipment and protective systems as defined in the ATEX Workplace directive 1999/92. It means that the selection must be based on the categorisation set out in ATEX Equipment directive 2014/34, unless the actual risk assessment (as demonstrated in the Explosion protection document) points at another approach (course of action).
