Chapter Chapter 5 in Introduction to Quality and Reliability Engineering, 2015, pp 67-88 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter focuses on the issue to fit a given dataset to a distribution model in the context of failure data analysis. We first discuss various types of reliability data, and then present typical statistical methods for parameter estimation and hypothesis testing. Finally, we discuss the model selection problem in the context of multiple candidate models.
