Abstract:
The aim of the paper is to contribute to the understanding on the level of strategic maturity of Russian companies in the sphere of supply chain management. We present the results of an empirical study conducted on the base of a sample of 208 Russian companies from different industries, describe the structure and methods of study, develop an integrated approach to the design of research and discuss the main findings on purchasing patterns in Russian markets. The main emphasis is put on the strategic collaboration with suppliers, the role of strategic orientation of the company and development of long-term planning. We analyze as well the hypothesis on the causal link between the level of strategic maturity and company's performance and the mediating role of the level of organizational capabilities in the sphere of SCM.
