Psychological, Social, and Environmental Determinants of Tourist Well-Being: An Integrated Framework

Abstract: Purpose: Travel does not mean going to new places but the differences that they make on us as we appear to be deeper, bond closer and grow better. A very basic model is provided in the paper: the relationships between the psychological upsurge (developing self-esteem and forming of memorable memories), social and environmental (being being absorbed in the culture or the admiration of the scenic beauty) motive drive the tourist well being.Design/Methodology/Approach: Reflexive thematic analysis of 25 in depth travel interviews using NVivo coding.Findings: Three pathways emerged: psychological (80%), social (88%), and environmental (100%) pathways confirmed, producing both hedonic wellbeing (instantaneous happiness) and eudaimonic wellbeing (true fulfillment).Implications/Originality/Value: So it is concluded that Its results drive the exploration of tourism into even more adjacent empirical models and offer destination planners with concepts of how to shape journey that in fact sustains the traveler.
