Abstract: Lower rate of contraceptive use is a nascent matter across the world and remains widespread problem particularly in developing countries including Bangladesh. In this study, an attempt was made to analyze the association of different socio-economic and demographic variables with the status of contraceptive use as well as to identify the most effective factors influencing the status of contraceptive use among the women in rural areas in Bangladesh. The intention of this study has tried to raise awareness of the situation and, where necessary, to stimulate action. Findings need to be given due attention and need to be scientifically utilized in developing suitable programs addressing the case of contraceptive use particularly in rural areas and country as a whole.
