Unveiling the Role of Knowledge Sharing and Knowledge Hiding in Enhancing Public Service Motivation: Exploring the Moderating Effect of Organizational Structure

Abstract:
This study examines the relationships between knowledge sharing, knowledge hiding, and public service motivation (PSM) among nurses in the nonprofit healthcare sector. Further, the moderation effect of organizational structure on this relationship is investigated. Based on a survey conducted with a sample of nurses, 151 responses were collected and analyzed using structural equation modeling. The findings reveal that knowledge sharing positively improves nurses’ PSM. Additionally, the organizational structure significantly moderated the correlation between knowledge sharing/hiding and PSM. The results emphasize the importance of fostering a culture of knowledge transfer and implementing supportive organizational structures to enhance PSM among nurses.
