Abstract: The purpose of this study is to understand interrelationships among culinary employees’ perception of role stress, burnout, and turnover intent in a deluxe hotel. A total of 316 employees in Korea participated in the study. The results showed a positive relationship between employees’ perceptions of role stress and burnout. Participants who reported a high level of burnout were more likely to leave their position. In addition, there were moderating effects related to tenure in the causal relationships between employees’ burnout and turnover intent. Limitations and future research directions are also discussed.
