Abstract: The Romanian diaspora is the fifth largest in the world that provide immigrants according to a study commissioned by the Foreign Ministry of Romania on March 6, 2017 and carried out by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). Thus, this article maps the image of the Romanian diaspora, the contribution made to the Romanian economy and the policies of the Romanian state regarding the Diaspora. From the analyzes and research carried out, I have concluded that the Romanian diaspora has an extraordinary economic and investment potential, representing a true catalyst for the development of the Romanian economy, both through the contribution made to the Romanian economy, and through a know-how that they have acquired. in the countries of destination.
