Abstract: The difinition of municipal territory as some new formation is given in the article, its definition as "social corporate" structure is brought, its analogy with holding and mini-state is given. The aim, structure, and components of social corporation are opened, the institutes of social activity are shown. The main tasks and functions of municipal territory as social corporation are formulated, in the part of creation and conducting of people’s register, formation of budget, business organization. The "social capital", "cultural capital", "education and licensing" are shown in the development of definition "social corporation".
