Abstract:
The article is characterized a position of Russia on a current industry world map and the structural shifts in Russian industry. Industrial production was the most important sector of the Russian economy throughout the whole XX century, and, no doubt, will remain so in the near future, notwithstanding of the fact that the perestroika had a great negative impact on the sector and now it also goes through tough times in conditions of the global financial crisis. Development of an industrial sector provides the stability of social and economic development, determines the country’s position in the world economy.
