Abstract: Drawing upon the literature on individual creativity, trust, and promotive voice, this study proposes that the intra-individual characteristics of creativity and innovation trust affect an individual’s innovation-focused promotive voice. This study argues that creativity is an antecedent to innovation-focused promotive voice and that innovation trust mediates this relationship. Using data from 288 participant responses, we apply PLS structural equation modelling to explain innovation-focused promotive voice. Results show that trust has meaningful relationships with creativity and innovation-focused promotive voice. These results suggest that intra-individual factors impact interpersonal relations and interactions among innovators in regard to proposing innovative ideas. These insights contribute to the conversation on how scholars and practitioners can better organise and lead people to facilitate the development and management of innovation.
