Abstract: The lattice-Boltzmann method (LBM) with enhanced collisions is used to calculate the flow and the temperature in an equipment used for growingGaPO4crystals from solution. For this purpose the lattice-Boltzmann method is extended to handle blocks with different physical properties. The results of our numerical calculations for the velocities and the temperatures in the solution are in reasonable agreement with recent experimental results.
