Abstract:
AbstractThis chapter analyzes the role of Information Technology (IT), Total Quality Management (TQM) and Business Vision in Business Process Reengineering (BPR). The study has been conducted in two large enterprises in India where BPR is being implemented. The study reveals that IT is the key enabler of BPR but is not sufficient in itself Business Vision seems to be one of the critical preconditions and driving forces for BPR initiatives. TQM plays a complementary role in BPR.
