Abstract:
Our own individual effort will take us only so far in improving our influencing effectiveness. In our experience of working with thousands of leaders, 5–10% of professionals are drawn to self-development; for the remaining 90–95%, some external stimuli and support are required to kick-start and sustain any continuous improvement. This chapter will deal with the attitudes that predispose us to be a part of the former, i.e., work to develop ourselves — from our +influence attempts to complementary efforts in developing ourselves.
