Chapter 4 in Knowledge Governance and Learning for Organizational Creativity and Transformation, 2021, pp 55-73 from World Scientific Publishing Co. Pte. Ltd.
Abstract:
This chapter aims to verify how a knowledge-intensive organization could add value, moving from management to knowledge governance, and thus improve its performance and competitive advantage. In this sense, the most adequate mechanisms for the transition from management to knowledge governance are identified. The results of the research showed that the adoption of governance mechanisms makes it possible to improve the management of the organization’s knowledge assets, implying cost reduction and fostering a collaborative culture and the creation of knowledge. Therefore, it can be noted that there was a theoretical and practical contribution to the improvement of the organization’s knowledge management process and to the analysis of theoretical concepts in organizational practice.
