Abstract: This chapter explores the concept of critical success factors (CSFs) in public–private partnership (PPP) implementation. First, the chapter adopts a systematic approach to explore the trend of research in this very important area of research in PPP. The outcomes include the most productive authors, most productive countries/jurisdictions, annual publication trend, most productive institutions and most cited publications on CSFs for PPPs. Further, this chapter examines the CSFs from successful past case studies from Hong Kong and Ghana. The cases include the Cross Harbor Tunnel (Hong Kong) and the One District One Factory (1D1F) initiative (Ghana). The analysis was based on publicly available documentation and informal discussions with project participants and stakeholders. The outcomes of this chapter will inform both researchers and practitioners of the important CSFs for PPPs from different jurisdictions and, more importantly, the key actors or researchers in this domain for potential future research collaborations.
