Abstract: Stakeholder management (SM) is an important aspect of the project management process and can be conceptualized in different ways to promote inclusive decision-making, facilitate partnerships, and help people understand one another. Due to the complex nature and the diverse interests and expectations of stakeholders, the public–private partnership (PPP)’s success relies heavily on effective SM. Whilst stakeholder issues cannot be prevented, they can be lessened through effective SM. However, SM approaches in conventional projects are often inadequate in managing the intricacy of the stakeholder environment in PPP projects. Therefore, this chapter builds on existing PPP and SM research and presents a conceptual SM approach for PPP projects.
