Abstract:
This study explores the link between the SDGs and economic growth, with specific reference to the role organizations can play to support the goals of the UNDP through Human Resource Management as they pursue sustainable economic growth. This chapter reviews the relevant literature to identify the SDG frameworks and the case studies that demonstrate the incorporation of the SDGs into organizational and HR management systems. According to the results of the study, the organizations that incorporated the UNDP’s SDGs into their strategic management are likely to foster sustainable economic development. This study argues that human capital management practices including talent management, engagement, and diversity management are important in building a sustainable workforce for competitive economic performance. To promote sustainability and strengthen the economy, organizations ought to align their HRM strategies with the UNDP SDGs. This encompasses fostering work environment productivity, cultivating sustainable workplace behaviors, and setting policies that help employees and the wider society. Comprehensive integration of HR and SDGs activities fosters poverty reduction, gender equality, social justice, and inclusive economic growth as a whole. Achieving this linkage facilitates economic growth and creates social and environmental value in the context of a sustainable economy.
