The Importance of Food Security from the Perspective of Food Issue of the Roman Empire

Abstract: This paper firstly introduced characteristics of the food production (or grain production) and regulation of the prosperous period of the Roman Empire. Then, it discussed the shortcomings and summarized the experience and lessons. It is expected to provide some references for construction of China’s food security.
