Abstract:
This text summarises the 2018 autumn forecast of the KOF Swiss Economic Institute at ETH Zurich, released on 3 October 2018. We first discuss recent economic developments abroad and the conditioning factors for economic activity in Switzerland. We then present the main forecast results across the various sectors of the Swiss economy, decomposed into the main demand components of GDP as well as for production, the labour market and prices. The final section consists of a comprehensive data appendix.
