Direct foreign investments in transition economy

Abstract:
The review of a modern condition of empirical researches on problems of direct foreign investments (DFI) in transition economy of the Central and the East Europe is given ion the article. The author allocates two stages of researches: unlike the first stage (1991 − 1995), on the second (1996 − present time) alongside with traditional questions on motives and barriers for DFI attention of researchers involve problems of allocation of major factors (determinants) of DFI, positive and normative effects from foreign investments for accepting economy. Moreover, standard econometrical methods of the analysis are given, and the checking of theoretical hypotheses from the theory of direct foreign investments acts as an object of research.
