Chapter Chapter 7 in Personal Brand Management, 2020, pp 109-122 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract How does an individual protect their brand’s value? Legal ownership is key. Although people want to create a public-facing image, they also want the right to own, manage, and protect those images. Personal brands can create a variety of tangible and intangible assets that need legal protection, from images to music to knowledge. Anything that helps the brand build a relationship with a consumer is an asset worth protecting. In addition to a legal professional, marketing professionals should have a general idea of the legal protections available for every brand asset they seek to monetize.
