Abstract Denmark | Hjörtur Smárason, through his consultancy Scope Communications, focuses on storytelling, crisis management, and local economic development. He has worked with governments and destinations all around the world, including Iceland after the economic collapse of 2008 and the volcanic eruption of 2010, Nepal after the earthquakes of 2015 and more recently countries in Africa and Middle East, following political and economic instability. Hjörtur is a popular speaker at conferences and has taught marketing and innovation for the tourism industry at Holar University in Iceland.
