A chapter in Business Success in Africa, 2024, pp 217-223 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Revivo is a business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce marketplace for electronics spare parts, repair tools, and refurbished devices, started in Kenya. Very little formal research has been done on the electronics repair ecosystem in Kenya and Africa more broadly. At the same time, the e-commerce sector is evolving rapidly in the region as internet and smartphone penetration increase and incomes rise. The confluence of these two factors meant that the Revivo team had to develop a deep customer understanding early on and iterate and evolve frequently in the development of their digital business model. They used rapid testing techniques to develop market knowledge and test assumptions quickly. This iteration and adaptation will continue as both the sector and the company evolve.
