Earned Schedule

Mario Vanhoucke

Chapter Chapter 3 in Integrated Project Management and Control, 2014, pp 33-40 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The two time performance metrics presented in the previous chapter, known as the Schedule Variance (SV) and the Schedule Performance Index (SPI), have known shortcomings and exhibit unreliable trends from the middle to late project stages. These shortcomings have led to the development of a simple alternative, known as the Earned Schedule (ES) method. This method makes use of the traditional EVM key metrics, and can therefore be seen as an extension and/or improvement to the current traditional time performance metrics rather than a newly designed technique.
