Talent Management in ASEAN: A Study of Thailand

Abstract: Abstract The study aims to discover the talent management practices of Thai executives and the reasons that influence engagement and performance of talented employees in the Thai securities industry. One financial and investment brokerage company is selected as a case study. It is the largest firm in Thailand that was able to sustain the champion position with the highest market share for more than 8 consecutive years. For data collection, in-depth interview is conducted with 3 top executives, 25 branch managers, and 75 high performance employees, respectively. The study reveals that executive’s characteristics that are (a) openness; (b) approachability; and (c) trustworthiness, have the important impact on engagement and performance of high performance employees.
