Chapter 5 in Strategy is Digital, 2016, pp 85-98 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter delves into the logistics and transportation section of the value chain and analyzes the challenges and opportunities arising from the massive rise in the volume of e-commerce. We use examples of traditional players like Yamato Logistics, which is relying on big data to survive, as well as new players from other industries, like Uber and Amazon, which are leveraging their big data know-how to enter an industry that, up until now, was only accessible to a few.
