Abstract: Abstract Norway | Erling Fossen is an urban geographer by education and is currently the CEO of Oslo Metropolitan Area, a private–public organization devoted to making Oslo a prime example of urban development. Erling’s specialties: making things happen, branding and identity, performative exposition, urban development, urban planning, urban governance, city states, functional regions, globalization, business development, and cluster stimulation. He recently published Oslo—Learning to fly (Arvinius), which documents the transformation of Oslo during the last 40 years.
