Abstract:
Abstract Proactive value chains are an emerging business practice rooted in advanced process management and underlying technologies and organizations. The paper presents a recently inaugurated research and innovation program in manufacturing, and proposes business process innovation as an enabler of proactive value chains. Finally the paper discusses the role of business process innovation in the transformation of the manufacturing value chains.
